Crossover Mission’s volunteer Board of Directors provides strategic leadership, fiduciary oversight, and governance to help ensure Crossover Mission remains financially strong and mission-focused. Their collective expertise in business, education, finance, healthcare, law, philanthropy, and community leadership strengthens our ability to serve student-athletes and their families.

Bradley Lorimier
Chairman
Brad Lorimier holds a BA degree in Biology from the University of Illinois and is retired after serving over 30 years in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, including roles at Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiaries. In 2007, he co-founded Avalon Pharmaceuticals Inc. Brad serves on the board of one other non-profit and is a resident of Indian River. He is the Chairman of the Crossover Mission Board of Directors.

Michael Reardon's Biography
Michael “Mike Reardon
Vice Chair
Michael Reardon holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an MBA from New York University, and a doctorate from Duke University. He began his career with JP Morgan Chase, advancing from corporate credit analyst to Managing Director of Acquisition Finance and Syndication Group. Michael has held managing financial positions at Salomon Smith Barney, Travelers Group, and Citigroup. He has extensive experience in managing and growing multi-billion dollar business entities and has been involved with various charitable organizations, including the ALS Foundation, Red Cross, and Avon Breast Cancer Foundation. Michael and his wife, Melisse, reside in Vero Beach, FL, and South Dartmouth, MA.

James Cronin's Biography
James “Jim” Cronin
Treasurer
Jim Cronin currently serves as a volunteer treasurer and trustee for the Fry Family Foundation. This medium-sized 501(c)(3) private foundation, established by Darryl and Marlene Fry, operates entirely through the efforts of volunteers. In his role as treasurer, Jim oversees all investment activities, while as a trustee, he collaborates with fellow trustees to manage the foundation’s overall functions.
Jim also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Crow’s Nest Properties III, LLC. As CEO of this small private LLC, he focuses on investments in single-family homes and condominium properties.
He has provided financial advisory services on an ad hoc basis to a diverse clientele, primarily small to medium-sized businesses, often offering these services on a pro bono basis.
As a co-owner of Diana M. Cronin, LLC, Jim specialized in tax and financial consulting, guiding clients on investment strategies and employee benefit plans.
From 1993 to 2007, Jim held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Cytec Industries Inc., an industrial chemicals and aerospace materials spin-off. In this role, he oversaw all financial operations, including controllership, treasury, tax, and audit.
Prior to that, from 1991 to 1993, Jim served as the Chemicals Group Controller at American Cyanamid Company, where he was responsible for the financial oversight of the Chemicals Group, handling various operational and strategic financial functions.

Jeremy Odom's Biography
Jeremy Odom

Jeremy Odom is the owner of four out of the five McDonald’s restaurants in the Vero Beach area. He is a significant supporter of Crossover Mission’s Travel Basketball Team, regularly contributing to fundraising efforts, providing free meals and hosting A/B honor roll outings for Crossover student athletes. Jeremy serves as the Secretary of the Crossover Mission Board of Directors.

Bob DiScipio's Biography
Bob DiScipio

Bob DiScipio brings over 40 years of experience in corporate law, public accounting, and management roles across the life sciences and software industries. He currently serves as CEO and Chairman of Sinopsys Surgical, Inc., focusing on innovative treatments for sinusitis. Bob was also the founder and CEO of Skyland Analytics, Inc., a consultancy specializing in life science manufacturing informatics and risk management, which was sold to Molecular Devices, a division of Danaher.
His leadership roles have included CEO and Chairman at Aegis Analytical, Inc., enhancing data analytics in the life sciences sector, and executive positions at Martek Biosciences and OmegaTech. Earlier in his career, Bob worked as a Tax Attorney at PWC. He is actively involved in community and non-profit work, serving as Chair of the PTO at Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Boulder, and as a board member at both the New Canaan Library and the Norwalk Community Technical College Foundation. Bob and his wife, Tina, who celebrate their 35th anniversary in May 2024, split their time between Vero Beach, Florida, and Boulder, Colorado. They are members of John’s Island Club, Quail Valley, and Boulder Country Club, and enjoy family life with their four children and grandchild.

James L. Francis's Biography
James L. Francis

James L. Francis is a highly accomplished business leader with more than three decades of experience in hospitality, finance, and real estate investment. He is the retired President, Chief Executive Officer, and Trustee of Chesapeake Lodging Trust, the lodging REIT he founded in 2010 and successfully led until its $2.7 billion sale in 2019. Earlier, he founded and served as President and CEO of Highland Hospitality Corporation, guiding the company through its successful sale in 2007. Throughout his career, Mr. Francis also held executive leadership positions with Barceló Crestline Corporation, Crestline Capital Corporation, Host Marriott Corporation, and Marriott International, where he built extensive expertise in corporate finance, strategic planning, investor relations, and hotel operations. He has served on the boards of several public companies and brings significant governance experience. Mr. Francis earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business from McDaniel College and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Vanderbilt University, graduating with highest honors from both institutions.

Ken Hanau's Biography

Ken Hanau is a Partner at Bain Capital and a member of the firm’s North America Private Equity team. Since joining Bain Capital in 2015, he has led the firm’s North American Industrial vertical, including services and distribution, while helping coordinate Bain Capital’s global investment activities across the industrial sector. With more than 30 years of private equity and industrial investment experience, Mr. Hanau previously served as Managing Partner of 3i’s private equity business in North America. Earlier in his career, he played an active role in the operations and successful sale of his family business, K&H Corrugated Case Corporation, providing him with firsthand entrepreneurial and operational experience. Mr. Hanau earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Amherst College.

Kim Huchro's Biography

Kim H. has dedicated much of her time to supporting organizations that preserve history, expand educational opportunities, and strengthen communities. She currently serves as Vice Chair and Board Member of Historic Hudson Valley (2013–present), founded the Women’s History Institute of Historic Hudson Valley (2014–present), and is a Founding Member and Secretary of the Woodlea Foundation (2022–present).
Her previous nonprofit leadership includes serving as President and Board Member of CitySquash, Gala Chair and Trustee of the Thursday Club, Vice Chair and Board Member of Sacred Heart School, and Development Committee Chair and Board Member of Villages in Partnership.
Kim earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from St. John’s University and a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law.

Mary Buff Penrose's Biography

Buff Penrose enjoyed a rewarding career in the advertising industry in Chicago and New York City as a marketing executive with Ogilvy and Mather and J Walter Thompson. She went on to work as a consultant to schools, private companies and other non-profit organizations focusing on communications, branding, capital campaign development and enrollment marketing management.
As a Board member of several non-profit organizations including, most recently, the John’s Island Community Service League and the John’s Island Club as well as educational institutions in NYC such as The Spence School, Oliver Scholars and Reach the World, Buff has brought a passion for community engagement, strategic planning and fundraising to help make a difference.

Thomas Piper attended the University of Virginia, Class of 1963, and completed the Harvard Business School summer program in corporate financial management in 1972. With over 50 years in the financial industry, Thomas held senior positions at Hayden, Stone, New Court Securities (the European Rothschild’s family office in New York), and Dillon Read & Co., which merged into UBS. He also worked as a Managing Director at Citi Private Bank and a senior officer at W.P. Stewart, which was sold to Alliance Bernstein in 2013. He retired in December 2018.

Lisa Slater, born in Rockville, MD, graduated from Boston College with a BS in Accounting. She worked for Champion Recruiting Associates in Bethesda, MD, as a recruiter and has been involved with several organizations, including the Washington School for Girls, The Shepherd Foundation, Suburban Hospital Foundation, and the Yellow Ribbon Fund. Lisa is a resident of Vero Beach, FL.

Patrick Shook retired in 2020 after a 37-year career with Marriott International, where he held senior management roles in operations and sales and marketing. Most of his career was spent with Marriott’s resort hotels in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Latin America. Patrick also enjoyed many years as a youth and high school boys lacrosse coach in Minnesota. He and his wife, Ellyn, reside in New York City and Vero Beach, FL.

Major Milo Thornton has 25 years of law enforcement experience and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Indian River State College and a Master’s Degree from the University of Central Florida. He is currently the Captain of School Resource Officers for the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office and an adjunct instructor at Indian River State College. Milo is affiliated with several non-profits and is running for Sheriff of Indian River County. Milo resides in Indian River County.
