Meet Crossover Mission’s Board of Directors, a dedicated group of community leaders who bring diverse expertise and a shared passion for transforming lives through sport and education. Each member of our board is committed to guiding Crossover Mission in achieving its vision, fostering environments where young athletes thrive both on and off the court. Their strategic oversight ensures that we continue to enhance our programs and extend our impact, helping underserved youth to excel academically, athletically, and personally.

Bradley Lorimier
Chairman
Brad Lorimier holds a BA degree in Biology from the University of Illinois and is retired after serving over 30 years in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, including roles at Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiaries. In 2007, he co-founded Avalon Pharmaceuticals Inc. Brad serves on the board of one other non-profit and is a resident of Indian River. He is the Chairman of the Crossover Mission Board of Directors.

Bob Parsons
Vice-Chair
Robert Parsons is the former President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of a national corporation specializing in the distribution of specialty construction products. Bob has been primarily responsible for overseeing all aspects of Crossover’s Center for Excellence building project. He is a resident of Indian River County and serves as the Vice Chairman of the Crossover Mission Board of Directors.

Thomas Piper III
Treasurer
Thomas Piper attended the University of Virginia, Class of 1963, and completed the Harvard Business School summer program in corporate financial management in 1972. With over 50 years in the financial industry, Thomas held senior positions at Hayden, Stone, New Court Securities (the European Rothschild’s family office in New York), and Dillon Read & Co., which merged into UBS. He also worked as a Managing Director at Citi Private Bank and a senior officer at W.P. Stewart, which was sold to Alliance Bernstein in 2013. He retired in December 2018 and serves as the Treasurer of the Crossover Mission Board of Directors.

Jeremy Odom
Secretary
Jeremy Odom is the owner of four out of the five McDonald’s restaurants in the Vero Beach area. He is a significant supporter of Crossover Mission’s Travel Basketball Team, regularly contributing to fundraising efforts, providing free meals and hosting A/B honor roll outings for Crossover student athletes. Jeremy serves as the Secretary of the Crossover Mission Board of Directors.

Bob DiScipio
Director
Bob DiScipio brings over 40 years of experience in corporate law, public accounting, and management roles across the life sciences and software industries. He currently serves as CEO and Chairman of Sinopsys Surgical, Inc., focusing on innovative treatments for sinusitis. Bob was also the founder and CEO of Skyland Analytics, Inc., a consultancy specializing in life science manufacturing informatics and risk management, which was sold to Molecular Devices, a division of Danaher.
His leadership roles have included CEO and Chairman at Aegis Analytical, Inc., enhancing data analytics in the life sciences sector, and executive positions at Martek Biosciences and OmegaTech. Earlier in his career, Bob worked as a Tax Attorney at PWC. He is actively involved in community and non-profit work, serving as Chair of the PTO at Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Boulder, and as a board member at both the New Canaan Library and the Norwalk Community Technical College Foundation. Bob and his wife, Tina, who celebrate their 35th anniversary in May 2024, split their time between Vero Beach, Florida, and Boulder, Colorado. They are members of John’s Island Club, Quail Valley, and Boulder Country Club, and enjoy family life with their four children and grandchild.

Bruce Hammonds
Director
Bruce has been married to Sandy Hammonds for 52 years, and they have two sons and four grandchildren. He graduated from the University of Baltimore in 1971 and had a distinguished career in the finance industry. He held leadership roles at ITT Financial and Maryland National Bank before becoming the Chief Operating Officer of a new credit card bank in Wilmington, DE, which grew into the largest credit card company in the U.S., eventually becoming MBNA. Bruce was named CEO in 2001, and in 2006, MBNA was sold to Bank of America, where he served as President of their credit card business and a member of their Executive Committee until his retirement in 2008. Bruce and his wife, Sandy, have been actively involved in various charities, including the Boys and Girls Clubs, and currently reside in Vero Beach.

Mary Buff Penrose
Director
Buff Penrose was the Vice President of Ogilvy & Mather and an Independent Consultant to private companies, schools and non-profit organizations focusing on Communications, Branding, Capital Campaign Development and School Admissions.
Currently she is the Past Board member of the John’s Island Club and John’s Island Community Service League as well as serving on our board here.

Rev. Gregory “Greg” Pitts Sr.
Director
Rev. Gregory Pitts, Sr., is the Founder and Pastor of the Center of Joy Church, a local entrepreneur, and a business owner. He is a resident of Indian River County.

Michael “Mike Reardon
Director
Michael Reardon holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an MBA from New York University, and a doctorate from Duke University. He began his career with JP Morgan Chase, advancing from corporate credit analyst to Managing Director of Acquisition Finance and Syndication Group. Michael has held managing financial positions at Salomon Smith Barney, Travelers Group, and Citigroup. He has extensive experience in managing and growing multi-billion dollar business entities and has been involved with various charitable organizations, including the ALS Foundation, Red Cross, and Avon Breast Cancer Foundation. Michael and his wife, Melisse, reside in Vero Beach, FL, and South Dartmouth, MA.

Patrick Shook
Director
Patrick Shook retired in 2020 after a 37-year career with Marriott International, where he held senior management roles in operations and sales and marketing. Most of his career was spent with Marriott’s resort hotels in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Latin America. Patrick also enjoyed many years as a youth and high school boys lacrosse coach in Minnesota. He and his wife, Ellyn, reside in New York City and Vero Beach, FL.

Lisa Slater
Director
Lisa Slater, born in Rockville, MD, graduated from Boston College with a BS in Accounting. She worked for Champion Recruiting Associates in Bethesda, MD, as a recruiter and has been involved with several organizations, including the Washington School for Girls, The Shepherd Foundation, Suburban Hospital Foundation, and the Yellow Ribbon Fund. Lisa is a resident of Vero Beach, FL.

Major Milo Thornton
Director
Major Milo Thornton has 25 years of law enforcement experience and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Indian River State College and a Master’s Degree from the University of Central Florida. He is currently the Captain of School Resource Officers for the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office and an adjunct instructor at Indian River State College. Milo is affiliated with several non-profits and is running for Sheriff of Indian River County. Milo resides in Indian River County.
