Crossover Mission would like to honor Cameron Barnes, one of our graduating seniors from the Class of 2024.
Cameron has been an active student athlete at Crossover for more than five years, having been mentored by Cathy De Schouwer, Antoine Jennings, and Diane Bainter. He has excelled on the court through his participation in Crossover’s Elite Training program and was twice selected to attend the Leonard Hamilton Basketball Camp on the campus of Florida State University. At Saint Edward’s School, Cameron was a three-year varsity player for the basketball team while also playing on the football team for two years.
Off the court, Cameron earned a 3.3 GPA while taking all honors classes and working at Panera Bread He recently won Saint Edward’s “Determination Mindset Award” and was awarded college scholarships from the Rudolph E. Smith Sr. Scholarship Foundation as well as Crossover Mission. Cameron also shared his personal story and the impact Crossover Mission has had on his life at several events, including Crossover Mission private donor events, the gala, and the 2024 Children Services Advisory Committee Award Ceremony.
Cameron is just getting started, though. For the Fall 2024 semester, he is taking classes at Indian River State College while doing an internship at Berkshire Hathaway so that he may continue to explore his dreams of starting his own company and being financially successful.
Congratulations, Cameron, his dear mom, Curtisha, and his four younger siblings!
