Crossover Mission’s Healthy Kids Program embodies our commitment to nurturing young talents, aiming to help them reach their peak performance potential both on and off the basketball court. It is both a prevention and management that addresses obesity, physical fitness, nutrition, and the social dimensions of a young person’s health and well-being. This comprehensive program is mandatory for all student athletes ages 10-18 and integrates daily basketball training with essential life skills and health education during the school year. With provided transportation to our newly renovated 40,000 sq. ft. facility that includes two basketball courts, Crossover Mission’s Center for Excellence, we ensure every student athlete has the opportunity to participate and thrive.

Healthy Kids operates on a robust three-part strategy designed to nurture well-rounded individuals:

Basketball Training: We focus on honing skills essential for both personal and athletic growth, including ball handling, footwork, scoring, play strategy, and execution.

Healthy Lifestyles and Life-Skills Instruction: Our curriculum extends beyond physical training to include vital education on health, diet, and nutrition alongside mental health awareness to promote resilience and confidence.

One-to-One Mentoring: Each student athlete benefits from personalized guidance that helps them navigate their unique challenges and opportunities.

This comprehensive approach helps mitigate risk factors that our youth may face, such as antisocial behaviors, family stabilization issues, and a lack of school commitment. Through structured physical and social activities, our program not only improves physical fitness but also instills healthy belief systems and fosters supportive peer networks. We emphasize the development of strong fundamentals that are pivotal both in sports and in life—teaching skills that translate into disciplined, committed, and thoughtful behaviors.

Our dedicated team of coaches and mentors are committed to methodically instructing these young athletes, creating consistent opportunities for engagement, and providing positive reinforcement to encourage and celebrate appropriate behaviors. Healthy Kids is designed to empower participants to build a strong foundation for success, both academically and socially, paving the way for a healthier, more successful future.
